Global CHIVA Program Enters Tier 1 Pilot Phase, Marking a New Milestone in Standardized Venous Education

December 8, 2025 (United States)

The Global CHIVA Program has officially entered the soft-launch phase of its Tier 1 pilot curriculum, releasing two foundational modules—Fundamentals of Ultrasound Knowledge and Device Operation and Fundamentals of Venous Hemodynamics. These modules offer a structured, evidence-based, and internationally standardized learning pathway delivered through a remote education platform for healthcare professionals and medical students seeking systematic CHIVA training.

Why This Marks a Global Milestone

Although CHIVA has gained increasing visibility in venous disease management, the field has long lacked a globally recognized education, training, and certification system supported by an international medical credentialing organization.

Since 2021, Inteleos has partnered with Dr. Smile Medical Group to launch the Global CHIVA Program. Guided by the Global CHIVA Program Advisory Panel, the two organizations have collaborated to build the world’s first standardized CHIVA education and certification framework, including:

  • A structured curriculum architecture
  • An integrated online evaluation system
  • Internationally aligned certification mechanisms

This foundational framework is now taking shape, offering clearer direction and stronger global consistency for the advancement of CHIVA concepts and techniques.

What Makes the Soft Launch Unique

The Tier 1 pilot adopts a soft-launch model characterized by openness, user participation, and ongoing refinement. Key features include:

Continuous Module Updates

The first two modules are now available, and course content, focus areas, and assessments will be refined iteratively based on pilot user feedback.

Iterative System and Content Development

The online learning platform, evaluation tools, and user experience will continue to evolve. Early participants will play an active role in shaping the development process.

Symbolic Pilot-Phase Pricing

A nominal registration fee enables broader participation and early access to the Global CHIVA education and certification system.

Encouragement of User Feedback

Participant insights will directly inform the refinement of future module content and assessment standards.

This soft-launch phase is a public-facing, evaluation-oriented, and continuously improving stage. Under the guidance of the Global CHIVA Program Advisory Panel, it lays the foundation for the full release of the standardized CHIVA education and certification system.

Who Is Eligible to Participate

The program welcomes healthcare professionals worldwide, including but not limited to:

  • Vascular surgeons / General surgeons
  • Venous and vascular medicine specialists
  • Ultrasound physicians / Sonographers
  • Interventional radiologists / Dermatologists
  • Medical students, residents, and researchers

Individuals who join during the pilot period will automatically transition into the complete Tier 1 learning pathway as additional modules are released.

Future Outlook

Tier 1 of the Global CHIVA Program consists of six modules, scheduled for phased release through 2026. Under the guidance of the Global CHIVA Program Advisory Panel, Inteleos and Dr. Smile Medical Group will continue refining curriculum content, evaluation methods, and platform functionality.

The Tier 1 pilot marks the beginning of practical implementation for a globally standardized CHIVA education system. It reflects a broader shift toward structured, rigorous, internationally aligned, and accessible training in CHIVA philosophy and techniques.

For healthcare professionals and medical learners worldwide, participation in this phase provides a valuable opportunity to engage with a global community advancing the future of hemodynamic-guided venous care.
